About Austin Rehabilitation Specialists

Austin Rehabilitation Specialists provides comprehensive and compassionate physical medicine and rehabilitation services with emphasis on the treatment of complex conditions such as spinal cord injury, stroke, amputee and spasticity due to other neurological disorders.

We have established clinics in Austin, Texas to treat these conditions and provide the necessary long term follow up care. Our spinal cord injury clinic provides management for bowel, bladder, spasticity, neuropathic pain, as well as routine well-being. The stroke clinic provides management for gait impairment, hemiparesis, neurogenic bowel and bladder, spasticity, arm weakness, dysphasia, aphasia, balance, and coordination impairments. At the amputee clinic, our rehabilitation specialists provide management for prosthetic and orthotic recommendations, adjustments, fittings, as well as gait analysis. Our doctors also offer a spasticity management program to focus on treatment of this condition commonly seen in spinal cord injuries, cerebral vascular accidents, and other central nervous injuries. With all these conditions, we help determine whether patients need conservative or interventional management.

We assist in coordinating inpatient therapy plans including a comprehensive equipment assessment with the goal of allowing patients to become as independent as possible. Young stroke survivor program emphasizes return to work and hobbies.
